Crazy lace Agate is a very fine grained form of Quartz most of which originate from Mexico. It differs from other agates due to its irregular 'crazy' stripe patterns and golden brown colouring. 

The stone is formed when gas bubbles form in liquid volcanic lava bubbles. These bubbles cool and harden forming nodules in the rock. Agate is an extremely hard rock which requires diamond saws cut the stone.
